Grupo Axé Capoeira has approximately 20,000 students worldwide. With Several albums and DVDs, the school continues to push capoeira to regions where capoeira is still unheard of. Though it is a Contemporary Capoeira school, it still continues to teach the tradition of capoeira including all aspects and neglecting none. Lead by Mestre Barrão, it is one of the most respected schools in the world.

The Trinidad and Tobago branch, lead by Azulão, is a relatively young school but is still the most popular school in the country and possibly the entire Caribbean region.
